What this service handles

Baggage delivery is the last thing a disrupted passenger experiences and the part of the process carriers have least visibility into. A bag leaves in a van and the record is a phone number and a note.

VaultPac runs it on the same custody engine as the rest of its luggage work: tagged at collection from the baggage service office, scanned at every handoff, held when an address cannot receive it, and delivered with a recorded recipient and time. The carrier's own bag reference is carried on the movement, so the proof returns in a form the airline can act on.

This is a partnership offer to airlines, handlers and baggage service providers. VaultPac has no airline contracts today and does not represent otherwise.

How VaultPac coordinates it

Every booking is a trip. A trip carries trip services, and each service breaks into the individual movements that actually have to happen — which is why the people and the bags do not have to travel the same way.

  2. Trip services
  3. Individual movements
  • Luggage movement

Bags booked as their own movement, with their own route, their own timing and their own proof.

  • QR custody scan

Every bag carries a tag. Each change of hands is scanned, so custody is a record rather than a recollection.

  • Proof of pickup

Time, place and who released the item, captured at collection.

  • Proof of delivery

Time, place and who received the item, captured at delivery.

  • Secure storage between movements

Items can be held under custody between a pickup and a delivery, and released on a schedule rather than on arrival.

  • Dispatch monitoring

Every movement on one board while it runs, so a late arrival is seen rather than reported.

  • Operator assignment

Movements assigned to a specific operator and vehicle, with the assignment visible to dispatch throughout.

  • Timed offer & backup routing

The preferred operator is offered the movement first and has a window to accept; if they do not, it moves to the backup pool automatically.

  • Affiliate & operator network

Vetted operators take work through the provider application, with their own view of the movements they hold.

What runs this movement

Assignment reads the passenger count and the bag count, so the vehicle that arrives fits both. Larger movements run several.

Why VaultPac for this

  • The custody record is the product — proof the carrier can put in front of a passenger.
  • Delivery windows rather than open-ended attempts, so a bag is not chasing an empty address.
  • Storage inside the movement, so a late-night delivery that cannot land is held rather than failed.
  • Operator network depth for volume nights.

Important

  • VaultPac does not currently hold baggage delivery contracts with any airline. This page describes a service being offered to carriers, handlers and baggage service providers.

Questions

Do you have an existing airline contract?

No. This is an offer to carriers and handlers rather than a description of work we are already doing under contract.

What does the carrier receive back?

Proof of delivery with time, place and recipient, tied to your own bag reference, plus the scan trail from collection onwards.
